Krista embodies hygge. She loves to entertain and create Hygge moments with family and friends. She is intensely curious about what makes people thrive. Each project is deeply personal as Krista has a vested interest in the emotional relationship that our clients have with their homes.
She likes to say that at KHD, we place our clients inside a velvet box to walk them through the entire renovation experience. It is not just a design project; it’s our clients’ lives, homes, and their hearts that we hold through the design and renovation journey.
To Krista, home is the setting for all the small, quiet moments that bring us the most joy. Krista’s superpower is that she can look at a space and envision what is possible while listening very carefully to what families need and want.
Working in collaboration with clients, colleagues, and trades, Kirsten uses space, materials, and furnishings to create built environments that nurture and contribute to the well-being of the users of the space, “our families”.
Nothing is more gratifying to Kirsten than the day we return a home to a family, and we see each family member find a comfy spot to sit, with a grin on their face, and perhaps a little sigh, as they take in their new home. Together, we have created comfort, contentment, and a home that makes them feel that all is right in their world.
Kirsten is known to “geek out” over the details of a project, and clients can rest assured that all aspects of their project will be given purposeful and thoughtful consideration about what is most appropriate for them, not only on the first day but in the years to come.
Victoria is a natural leader and mentor. She gently guides clients and designers to create beautiful spaces that reflect the intention of the people who will live there.
Bringing both her technical and creative sides together, Victoria collaborates with clients to create beautiful designs that work. She’s known for understanding complex construction processes and breaking them down so clients are informed and assured their project will be completed the way they expect.
Victoria believes that hygge is about creating a space that suits the client’s style and goals. She creates spaces that are stunning and functional.
When Victoria is not working on KHD projects, she loves skiing, painting, drawing, and tackling her own home’s renovation.
Skye brings an abundance of technical skill with her years of design experience and enjoys the process of translating initial thoughts and loose ideas into finished, inviting spaces. Skye has a natural enthusiasm working collaboratively with clients, trades and other design professionals to bring a clients' vision to life.
When Skye's not working on KHD projects, you'll find her spending time with family, reading, or on the hunt for mid-century modern treasures.
Beatriz brings a unique perspective to every project, combining a Bachelor of Architecture with years of interior design experience. She creates spaces that are beautiful, functional, and tailored to each client’s lifestyle, always looking for innovative solutions. Enjoying collaboration and working closely with the team, Beatriz pays careful attention to every detail and considers construction in every decision to keep the design true to its vision. She loves finding solutions that elevate a space and making clients happy with the results.
When Beatriz isn’t creating striking designs at KHD, she enjoys travelling the world and finding inspiration in new places.
Allison loves people! She loves meeting them and building relationships. You might find her at a trade show or an event learning how we might help spread the love of hygge to Calgary.
Allison has a unique perspective. She was a design client for years and loved the process so much that she decided she would get educated and become a designer herself. She knows what it’s like to be on the client’s side and has ensured her approach is measured and thoughtful. Allison has an eye that cannot be taught and enjoys connecting with our clients and getting as excited about their transformations as they are, maybe more excited!
When Allison isn’t at KHD, you’ll find her cheering her kids at their sporting events and enjoying weekends at the family cabin.
Joa brings a strong foundation in Interior Design and is currently pursuing a diploma in Architectural Technologies. He is a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented professional who contributes to projects from a technical perspective, ensuring drawings are clear, accurate, and well-coordinated.
Outside of the studio, Joa enjoys staying active at the gym, walking his dog, and spending quality time with friends and family.
KHD is a licensed Prepaid General Contractor and a licensed home builder in the City of Calgary. We have appropriate insurance and WCB coverage. We vet our subtrades/ subcontractors well and ensure they have appropriate certifications and licenses and that they are up-to-date on their insurance and WCB coverage.
