We have affectionately dubbed this Springbank project “Modern Castle House.” These jet-setting executive clients came to us with the unique challenge of melding modern furnishings with the design of this gorgeous classic custom home by McDowell & Associates.
We were up to the challenge!
Our designers created a beautiful marriage of these two design themes through a mix of international Zoom and Calgary studio meetings.
A softer, brighter dining room to replace the ornate wallpaper.
A statement dining light to reflect the client’s love of blown glass art.
A proper home for an extensive record collection.
Music and relaxation zones that feel equally elegant and functional.
A luxurious primary suite with cohesive lighting and comfort.
Warm, inviting spaces for reading, resting, and enjoying the view.
Replaced ornate wallpaper with soft cloud wallpaper and created a custom linen tablecloth with dressmaker stitching.
Paired the new racetrack dining table with a gold hutch, sconces, and a hand-blown glass chandelier that captures the client’s artistic taste.
Designed a wall of custom millwork with soft-close drawers for record storage, complete with a rolling ladder for access and character.
Selected a custom rug that ties together bold green tones and neutral hues.
Installed a variation of the dining chandelier above the automated leather king bed for design continuity.
Added gold-detailed hemisphere lamps and a perfectly scaled custom area rug for warmth and proportion.
Created a cozy sitting area with modern chairs, a golden tear-drop table, and sconces balancing the fireplace.
Enhanced the ensuite with upgraded lighting, a ribbon light above the tub, and illuminated vanity mirrors.
Partnered with skilled artisans and cabinet makers to achieve a refined, cohesive result.
